All chemists are fully qualified and experienced and all laboratories are supported by full sample preparation facilities for bulk samples.

Metal testing laboratories are purpose built, fully equipped with traditional and modern instrumentation, to provide a fast, reliable and accurate results for commercial metal testing and metal analysis of copper, zinc, lead, gold, silver, platinum and palladium (also found in auto catalyst products),cobalt, tantalum, titanium, tin, iron, and minor metals from active mine productions, for metal refineries and also on behalf of traders at the consumer end of the metal value chain, for geochemical and environmental analysis for approved mining exploration companies, and also mine audits for Governments in emerging and developing countries,

Aquaculture and agriculture laboratories carry out GAFTA and FOSFA approved analyses on sealed shipping samples, contract and international reference samples for oils, fats, oilseeds, edible nuts, fatty acids, acid oils, distillates, animal feed, tallow, render, grain, wheat, rye, barley, oats, millet, peas, beans, soya, fish and food products. Alex Stewart Agriculture laboratories in Liverpool England and Shanghai China also provide food test lab analysis and certification for food labeling factors such as chemical, nutritional and calorific values, trace metal detections for animal feeds and also for biomass. Microbiological testing for major pathogenic and spoilage microorganisms includes processed cooked or uncooked meats, food and dairy products.

Environmental laboratories work to ISO standards and report organic and non-organic parameters to ppm and ppb levels. Types of environmental analysis include waters and bacteria in water, pollutants, heavy metals, anions, seawater; soils and sewage treatment for heavy industry; environmentally sensitive mining projects and also geological research and development projects.
